Sometimes, sellers sell and move away. They had their fill and then they push away from the scene and slink into the night. Enough, they say. They move to the hurricane zone, or they move to the heat stroke desert where the hot air blasts and every street looks like that street where Llewelyn Moss was callously mowed down at that roadside motel. But other times, and when you’re talking about Lake Geneva it’s most of the time, sellers become buyers. They sell and they think they’re maybe done but then they return, unable to shake the market and the scene and the way the morning sun dances and the waves push and the seagulls call. They come back because they can. They come back because they have to. This week I sold yet another lakefront home on Geneva, and this time it was to a returning buyer and that makes me happy. To the seller who chose me to represent their interests in this nuanced market, I’m grateful. And to the buyer who made a decision to get right back in the front row where they belong, welcome home.
