I can’t fully explain to you how pleased I am that the Lake Geneva lakefront market doesn’t care about rentals. What a relief that is to remove rental concepts from conditions that impact our market. On CNBC last week the pundits discussed the glut of rental inventory available in the Hamptons this summer. It’s 2X typical inventory, apparently, and that’s driving rental rates down. In such rental-driven markets, it’s obvious that lower rental demand also slowly translates into lower sales prices. This is why I’m glad Lake Geneva’s ownership really doesn’t care about the rental market, and while it might be frustrating to be searching for a lakefront rental, once you’re an owner you’ll appreciate the absence of rentals.
With that said, I do have a unique circumstance where a three bedroom cottage in Fontana on the water will be available for rent this summer for June and July. If you, or someone you know, might be interested in this concept, please do let me know. The property is in the front row of a terrific association, with private pier, massive lakeside deck, and views galore. If you’re thinking about a lakefront home here but would like to sample the experience first, here’s your chance. The good news for me is that once you experience the lakefront lifestyle, you’re going to be a buyer.
