What can I say? I’ve been blessed this year beyond anything that I deserve, and I know I’ll always look back on 2010 with the fondest of memories. I was in a hurry to get rid of 2007. 2008 couldn’t end soon enough. 2009 was good, but I had a nagging feeling towards the end of 2009 that 2010 was going to be even better. Fortunately, my feelings were right, and I was blessed this year with the health of my family, and the ability to selling real estate here for another year. While it could be argued that life was far from perfect, I’d play contrarian and argue that it’s the life itself that is indeed perfect. I am supremely grateful.
There will be nothing rambling about the post today. I have to save some thoughts for next week when people return to work and start reading this again. I sit here this morning having registered 184 page views shy of 60,000 for the year. I had just shy of 40,000 views all of 2009, so I’d say the growth on this site has been prolific. The question now is how can I continue to grow the site? As easy as I may say it is, writing here can be a bit consuming some days, and my mind now digests thoughts throughout the day and tries to figure out how they can be shared here. It’s like when I was a kid and I’d mow lawns. Nothing is better for thinking than mowing lawns. You, the grass, the hum of a internal combustion engine, bees… Lawn mowing was great for thinking, but with the introduction of screaming children and a torrid schedule, finding time to think can be a bit overwhelming at times.
I spent last night at a client’s house, and the bustling activity of friends and family enjoying a year end celebration at a magnificent, new lake house warmed my cold, jaded heart. The owner was proud, the friends were impressed, and just one season in there were already pictures of a happy family boating, swimming, and splashing their way through a Lake Geneva centric life. While the sales volume and accolades are fun and necessary, the real reason I sell Lake Geneva vacation homes is for evenings like last night. I’m happy to share my piece of utopia with anyone who wants in, and last night I found myself proud to have helped start a Lake Geneva tradition in the lives of one previously suburban-locked family.
My 2010 was a joy, and I’m thankful that you find the time to read along. If you’d be so kind as to forward this site link to a friend or forty who might be interested in keeping up with the Lake Geneva scene, that’s all I’d need to secure continued growth in 2011. I’ll leave you with the things that I enjoy most in my life. A warm Lake Geneva boat ride over smooth, clear waters sure does sound good to be right about now. I realize that you probably don’t have any interest in seeing my kids, but I wanted to put them in there so when I showed them the video they’d be interested. It could be worse, I could have put up a video of me talking. For now, best wishes for a happy, healthy, Lake Geneva filled 2011. See you at the lake.
(Sorry about the obnoxious pop soundtrack, it’s really not my bag- I’m just a sucker for inclusions of Weezer. If you cannot view this video, better switch to a Mozilla browser.)
